i like thai food. it is one of my ethnic comfort foods. some southerners need potatoes and pot roast and such, cornbread, biscuits, gravy, pot pie, etc., etc. ... i need masaman curry, pad thai, tom yum, pad kao prow (or a number of indian dishes would do as well). so, because my family does a wonderful job eating our meals together at home, and i am not extremely skilled with cooking thai, when i do go out to eat, i often want thai or indian. this portrait was taken at a fairly new establishment in town, and it was nice to venture away from my favorites, but it did not unseat the couple of places at the top. the server was sweet and kind enough to allow me the opportunity to include her here. the color of the interior was glowing at the lunch hour, and i wanted to utilize the hue, and so i did. mango sorbet, anyone?
